Uluwatu Temple is the name of Hinduism temple which is located in the southern part of Bali. Ulu means land and watu means rock. This name truly presents this temple as it is found at Bali’s most southern tip.
As the area of rocks, no water source here. Only spots of cotton trees that are able to survive the arid condition. Uluwatu temple is located on the edge of the rocks and offers extravagant views of the gleaming Indian Ocean. However this spot has currently developed into an expensive and most wanted area for hotels or many other tourist spots.
Heading to the temple you simply drive only about 45 minutes from Ngurah rai international airport. Here you will also see hundreds of tame monkeys roaming around the temple. Be-careful of your stuff. The monkeys sometimes steal your goods and can only be changed by food or fruit. The staff there will always remind you.
In addition, here you will be treated to the Kecak fire dance which is performed daily. Kecak, known in Indonesian as tari kecakilolahhe, is a form of Balinese Hindu dance and music drama that was developed in the 1930s in Bali, Indonesia. Since its creation, it has been performed primarily by men, with the first women’s kecak group having started in 2006. This dance starts at 6 pm. And usually being finished until 7 pm. The stage is located on the high position of the cliff while also enjoying a sunset view.
