Nusa Lembongan

Far from the hectic big city atmosphere on the southern part of Bali lies a stimulating getaway, a small island covering 8 square kilometers. Nusa Lembongan is a small island that the main point of interest is in the water around the island. Widely consider one of the clearest seawater areas in the world with its vivid aqua over a surrounding reef.

Nusa Lembongan is assesable by boat from Sanur, Benoa, Nusa Penida or the Gili islands. Its only about 40 minutes in a powered wooden boat from Sanur. Another choice for experience the island by ocean going vessel that provide comfortably appointed saloons, food and beverage as well as entertainment. This concerns takes their guests to floating pontoons where snorkeling gear provided for passengers to take to the shallow water directly from the pontoon. What on Nusa Lembongan?

Selective villas available almost around the island. Most of them offer its en suite bathroom and either balconies or garden terraces that face a lovely white sandy beach just step away from the villa. From here visitors can explore the island village and scenic walks as well as the reef.

There are cliff on sections of Nusa Lembongan that face directly on to deeper water and for the adventitious at heart there is a diving area at the Ceningan where the Blue Lagoon lies. Here a range of diving level from 5 to 15 meters will test a thrill seekers metal. It should be clearly stated here that cliff jumping, with all its intrinsic danger, is at the jumpers own risk.

The industry on Nusa Lembongan is primarily seaweed farming. This interesting form of aquaculture is the bread ans butter of the islanders although for a long time much of the bread came without butter, as world price for this suitable seaweed has been traditionally low.
